Children's Dentistry
A Foundation
Worth Building.
We believe that the dental experiences a child has can shape their relationship with oral health for the rest of their life. That's why our approach with young patients goes beyond checking teeth — it's about building genuine comfort, trust, and curiosity in the dental environment.
Our dentists have extensive experience working with children and understand that every child is different. We take the time to explain, demonstrate, and work at a pace that feels safe and manageable — whether it's a child's very first visit or a routine appointment.
For treatment that falls outside a general dental setting, we refer to our very caring Paediatric Specialists.

Our Approach
Gentle Care,
Every Visit.
The Early Visits
We start our children's visits at one year of age. This is predominantly focused on parent education and building familiarity — not procedures. Children are introduced to the sights, sounds, and friendly faces of our practice — making the dental chair feel like a safe place long before it needs to be.
Building Confidence
We use a tell-show-do approach, working with children at their own pace. Positive reinforcement and clear communication help children feel in control — turning dental visits into something they can feel proud of. Our very popular Netflix and Xbox are always on hand.
Prevention First
We focus on fissure sealants, remineralisation treatments, dietary guidance, and oral hygiene instruction to keep young teeth healthy and minimise the need for more complex treatment as they grow.
Specialist Referral
When treatment requires a specialist setting — such as complex extractions, behaviour management under general anaesthetic, or advanced paediatric care — we refer to our trusted Paediatric Dental Specialists.
Government Benefit
Children's Dental
Benefits Schedule.
The Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) is a Federal Government program that provides eligible children with access to basic dental services — and we are proud to Bulk Bill under this scheme.
The benefit cap for 2025–2026 is $1,132 per child, covering a range of preventive and general dental treatments. Any unused balance within the two-year period remains available for further care.
Eligibility is linked to certain government payments such as Family Tax Benefit Part A. Our reception team can help check your child's eligibility, or you can confirm through your myGov account linked to Medicare.
CDBS benefit information is current as of 2025–2026. Caps and eligibility criteria are subject to change by the Australian Government.
What's Covered
Check Up & Clean
Examinations, scale and clean, and preventive care are all covered under the CDBS, making regular visits accessible for eligible families.
Intra-Oral X-Rays
Digital intra-oral radiographs to detect decay between teeth and assess developing dentition — included under eligible services.
Fillings & Preventive Treatments
Dental fillings, fissure sealants, and fluoride application are covered, helping to treat and prevent decay at an early stage.
Eligibility
Children aged 0–17 whose family receives Family Tax Benefit Part A or certain other Centrelink payments may be eligible. Check with our reception team or via myGov.
Key Focus Areas
Beyond the Check Up,
What We Assess.
Orthodontic Assessment
Early Alignment
Matters.
We assess developing bites, spacing, and tooth eruption patterns at an early age. Identifying orthodontic concerns early can simplify treatment significantly — and in some cases, early intervention avoids the need for more extensive correction later.
Airway Analysis
Breathing
and Growth.
Airway health is closely linked to jaw development, sleep quality, and overall wellbeing in children. We screen for signs of mouth breathing, tongue posture concerns, and restricted airways — and can refer to the appropriate specialists where needed.
Oral Hygiene Education
Habits Formed
Early, Last.
We work with both children and parents to establish age-appropriate brushing and flossing routines, dietary guidance, and practical strategies for maintaining healthy teeth at home — because prevention is always the best treatment.
“A child who can leave the dental chair feeling proud today —
is on a path toward a lifetime of good oral health.”
