Invisalign is the household name of clear aligner treatment — having been around for over 20 years, it is currently the leading clear aligner brand worldwide. While there are many brands on the market, Invisalign is one of our two preferred systems alongside Angel Aligner, and both share an important distinction: they are dedicated clear aligner companies. No other products, no divided attention — just continuous development and refinement of a single technology.
Most people are. There are very few situations where someone genuinely isn't suited to Invisalign — the complexity of treatment it can achieve is on par with, and in some cases superior to, traditional braces. Your specific suitability is something we can only confirm through an examination, but if you're wondering whether Invisalign could work for you, the answer is probably yes.
It depends entirely on the complexity of your case. Treatment can range from as little as six months to three years or more, with the average sitting around 18 months. We'll give you a realistic timeline at your consultation — and we'll be honest if your case is at the more involved end of the spectrum.
When transitioning to a new set of aligners, it's normal to feel a noticeable pressure and occasionally some tenderness for a day or two — this is simply the teeth beginning to move. There should never be any moderate or severe pain. If significant pain develops at any point, that's not normal and you should contact us promptly.
Attachments are small tooth-coloured shapes bonded to the teeth that act as control arms, allowing the aligners to apply force with greater precision for certain movements. We try to avoid them on the visible front teeth where possible, but it's very common to have attachments on the majority of teeth throughout treatment. They're small, discreet, and removed at the end of treatment.
Yes — we can remove attachments from the visible front teeth ahead of an important event such as a wedding or formal photoshoot. It's worth knowing that this does add a step to your treatment: removal and replacement takes additional chair time and carries a fee, and there's a small risk of extending your overall treatment timeline. That said, for milestone moments, many patients find it absolutely worth it. We just ask for a little advance notice so we can plan it in properly.
This is the one genuine downside of aligner treatment. While your aligners are in, plain water only — anything else risks staining the aligners or trapping damaging liquid against your teeth. The good news is that aligners are easily removed for meals and snacks, and during those times you can eat and drink almost anything. We do recommend being mindful of heavily staining or acidic foods and drinks throughout treatment.
20 to 22 hours per day. The occasional day where aligners are out a little longer isn't catastrophic, but consistently removing them for more than 8 hours will begin to seriously compromise your treatment — causing aligners to fit poorly and significantly extending your overall timeline.
Pricing depends on the complexity and length of your treatment. Use our Invisalign Cost Calculator for a personalised estimate, and speak to our team about our interest-free payment plan options.
Yes, and retention is included in your plan. We always place a zig-zag lingual wire bonded to the back of your teeth — invisible from the front — after treatment is complete. We typically also recommend a night retainer as an additional layer of protection. The work you've put into moving your teeth deserves to be kept.
Invisalign Go is a simplified version that only treats the front six teeth. In practice, this has very limited application — more often than not, the back teeth require some degree of correction too, even when patients feel they look fine. Certain malocclusions, particularly mild ones, are easy to miss without a trained eye. For the vast majority of cases, full Invisalign is the right choice.
