A discrete, comfortable path to straighter teeth — custom designed for your smile and your life.
“Revolutionising the field of orthodontics — clear aligners are custom acrylic trays changed weekly to progressively move teeth into the desired position, offering a discrete, hygienic, and more comfortable alternative to braces.”
— Dr Laura Jarvis, Founder & Principal Dentist
Clear aligners are worn throughout the day, removed only when eating. They are discrete, hygienic, and far more comfortable than traditional braces — and can address a surprisingly wide range of orthodontic concerns.
Treatment at Element Dental goes beyond simply straightening teeth. We ensure each smile blends harmoniously with the soft tissues that shape the face, and identify any contributing causes such as tongue thrusting or lip incompetence.
*Does not include whitening, restorations, or overnight retainers / occlusal splints ($550).
At Element Dental, our cosmetically trained dentists collaborate with Australia's leading female provider of clear aligners — a partnership that delivers optimal results and takes teeth straightening to the next level.
We use state-of-the-art 3D scanning technology, professional photography, and advanced planning software to ensure you receive the very best version of your smile. 3D scans are uploaded into our planning software where teeth are safely moved within the confines of the bone.
To make your treatment as smooth as possible, we use an advanced virtual dental monitoring system. Download the DMA onto your smartphone and complete a weekly scan from the comfort of your home.
With each scan you will receive feedback and approval to proceed to the next aligner — or a recommendation to stay in the current one a few more days. Convenient for busy lives.

Angel Aligner® has gained considerable traction in recent years and has become the preferred choice of our specialist. Developed over 20 years, it delivers beautiful results with several distinct advantages.
Both brands are similar in appearance and functionality. We offer both — those who are brand-conscious can choose Invisalign®.

Common Questions
Both options are comparable in cost, duration, and capacity to achieve outstanding results. The key differentiator is compliance. Because braces are fixed and non-removable, they are often the preferred choice for children and patients who may struggle with consistent aligner wear. For adults seeking discretion, comfort, and the freedom to eat and clean without restriction, clear aligners are the natural choice. Some complex bite movements are better addressed with braces, and in certain cases patients transition between systems during treatment. A consultation with our specialist will clarify which option suits your individual case.
Clear aligners work through a series of precisely staged movements — each tray shifting specific teeth by a controlled, planned amount. This level of precision reduces the risk of root resorption, a complication that can occur when teeth are moved too rapidly, as can happen with certain braces configurations. Unlike fixed braces, aligners are fully removable, allow normal oral hygiene, and exert gentler, more predictable force at every stage of treatment.
Clear aligner treatment and traditional braces take a similar amount of time overall, and costs are broadly comparable. Treatment duration varies with the complexity of your case — from a few months for minor corrections to two or more years for comprehensive work. A detailed timeline and fee estimate is provided at your initial consultation once your records have been reviewed. Our cost calculator above provides a starting guide.
Because aligners are removable, the responsibility to wear them rests with you. A minimum of 20 to 22 hours per day is required for treatment to remain on schedule. Patients who are consistent achieve predictable, efficient results. Inconsistent wear extends timelines and can compromise outcomes. Our Dental Monitoring App makes it easy to track progress and confirm aligner changes from home, keeping treatment moving even between appointments.
Most patients experience mild pressure or tenderness for the first day or two when progressing to a new aligner — a normal and expected sign that the tray is working. We recommend switching to a new aligner before bed so you sleep through the initial adjustment phase. Clear aligners have a distinct advantage over braces here: each movement is precision-planned and applied to specific teeth, rather than distributing force across a preformed wire. Occasionally an attachment or aligner edge may cause localised irritation, which is easily resolved at your next visit or with a quick call to the clinic.
Attachments are small, tooth-coloured resin dots bonded temporarily to specific teeth. They give the aligner an anchor point, enabling more complex and precise movements that a smooth tray alone could not achieve. Almost all comprehensive treatment plans include them. We avoid placing attachments on the front teeth where possible, but the requirements of your treatment plan always take priority. In cases where front attachments cannot be avoided, they can sometimes be positioned on the inner (palatal) surface instead.
Clear aligners are capable of addressing the full range of common malocclusions — crowding, spacing, deep bite, open bite, overbite, underbite, and crossbite. Even moderate to severe cases are now routinely managed with modern aligner systems. We exercise additional care in patients with compromised supporting bone, significant root resorption, or poor oral hygiene. Dental implants present a specific limitation: implants are fixed in bone and cannot be moved, so treatment is limited to repositioning the natural teeth surrounding them. Any clinical limitations relevant to your case will be discussed openly at consultation.
The two premium systems we work with — Invisalign® and Angel Aligner® — are among the longest-established in the world, each with over 20 years dedicated exclusively to aligner development and manufacturing. Many companies offer aligners as one product among many; these two do not. Both deliver excellent clinical results. The right choice depends on your individual case and priorities, which we will discuss with you at consultation.
Invisalign® is the world's most recognised clear aligner brand and remains the benchmark by name. In recent years, its cost has increased significantly, creating room for alternatives in the Australian market. Angel Aligner® has become our preferred system for comprehensive treatment. It is more stain-resistant, tracks faster and more accurately — reducing overall treatment time in many cases — and carries a more accessible price point without compromising clinical outcomes. We continue to offer Invisalign® for patients who prefer it by name.
Orthodontic treatment involves considerably more than moving teeth into alignment. Thoughtful planning integrates aesthetics, function, and safety — how quickly teeth can be moved, how far they can travel without exposing roots, and how their final position will interact with the lips, cheeks, and facial profile. Poor planning is the most common cause of relapse and unsatisfactory results. We collaborate closely with one of Australia's leading specialist orthodontists to ensure every treatment plan is precise, considered, and built for lasting outcomes. Retention — consistently wearing retainers after treatment — is an equally critical phase, and we will guide you through it in detail.
